Made for SEC filers

Move from untagged HTML to review-ready iXBRL.

Automated tagging

AI applies tags to cover pages, financial statements, notes, tables, and applicable detailed disclosures.

Automated tagging is followed by error analysis, validation, and correction steps. Final filer review remains important.

Processing typically completes in less than an hour, depending on filing complexity and processing conditions.

Broad SEC filing support

Supports US-GAAP and IFRS and filings such as Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, 20-F and 40-F, as applicable.

Convenient self-service

Use a web browser to submit a filing, check status with its Access Code, and retrieve completed files.

Predictable costs

Check the exact charge before uploading. Pay only when you need tagging or revision processing.

Transparent pay-as-you-go pricing

Clear prices. No software license. No subscription.

Charges are based on the size in KB of the untagged HTML filing. You can calculate the exact cost in the submission form before uploading anything.

Built for real filing deadlines

Last-minute changes shouldn't mean starting over.

Filing drafts change. Auditors adjust figures. Counsel revises disclosures. With EDGARtag.AI™, upload the revised, untagged HTML and use the previous filing's Access Code to transfer and update existing Inline XBRL tagging.

Revisions cost $0.25/KB with no minimum—half the initial per-KB rate—making repeated updates more manageable.

A practical revision workflow

  1. Keep the Access Code from your initial submission.
  2. Revise your original untagged HTML filing.
  3. Submit the new HTML file with the same Access Code.
  4. Check status and download the updated tagged files.
  5. Review and validate before submitting to EDGAR.

The live submission form below handles payment, uploading, processing status, and completed-file downloads. Its separate buttons distinguish initial submissions from later updates.

How it works: step-by-step instructions

  1. Prepare your filing as an EDGAR-compatible HTML document. You may use your usual HTML preparation software, or ACI’s self-service Word-to-EDGAR HTML conversion if starting with Word.
  2. Check the exact price before uploading: In the top section of the form, enter the HTML file size and select the tagging service, then click Check Cost. You do not need to upload a document to check the price.
  3. Submit your initial filing: Complete the filer and payment information, select your HTML file, and click Submit Initial Filing. This uploads your filing and begins the automated tagging process.
  4. Save your Access Code. It appears in the Filing Status section after submission. You may leave the page and return later; you will need this code to retrieve your filing. Keep it confidential.
  5. Check progress and download: Enter the Access Code and click Check Status as needed. When processing is complete, click Download Tagged Filing to save the Inline XBRL files to your computer.
  6. Submit subsequent updates if needed: After modifying your original untagged HTML, select the revised file, enter the corresponding Access Code, and click Submit Subsequent Update. This transfers and updates the tagging at the discounted revision rate. Check status and download the updated files when complete.
  7. Review and file: Review the tagging for accuracy and completeness, optionally using the Arelle Inline XBRL Viewer. Then sign in to the SEC EDGAR filing website and submit the required files through your authorized EDGAR account.

Each separate filing has its own Access Code. When checking status, downloading, or updating, use the code belonging to that particular filing.

EDGARtag.AI™ filing portal

Calculate costs first—no upload required to see your price.

If the embedded form does not display, open the filing portal in a separate tab. Do not enter payment information on a page whose address or security you do not recognize.

Keep your Access Code confidential. Anyone possessing a valid code may potentially access the associated filing. Each new filing has its own code. You will need the correct code to check status, download the tagged files, or submit a revision.
Experience you can draw on

Developed by SEC filing technology specialists since 1993.

EDGARtag.AI™ comes from Advanced Computer Innovations, Inc. (ACI), a developer of EDGAR filing software, web-based filing tools, and filing services. ACI combines decades of SEC filing workflow experience with newer AI automation.

For teams that need more than a one-time self-service workflow, ACI also offers EDGARsuite desktop software and SEC filing agent services.

Security and responsible review

Website connections, forms, and file uploads use HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit. The company recognizes the sensitivity of draft, unpublished SEC filings.

Automated technical validation and AI checks reduce manual effort, but they do not guarantee that every taxonomy selection or disclosure is correct. The filer should independently review tagging accuracy and completeness before EDGAR submission.

For details about data retention and third-party AI processing, contact ACI before submitting particularly sensitive material.

Frequently asked questions

Questions before you submit?

Do I have to upload a file to see the price?

No. The submission form lets you calculate the exact initial or update price before uploading a filing.

Does cover-page-only pricing apply only to Form 8-K?

No. The reduced minimum is based on the scope of tagging. It is appropriate when the filing requires only cover-page Inline XBRL tagging.

Can I send a revised filing after initial tagging?

Yes. Upload the revised untagged HTML with the original filing's Access Code, then select the separate subsequent-update action. Revision processing is $0.25/KB with no minimum.

Does EDGARtag.AI™ create EDGAR HTML from Word or PDF?

This tagging service starts with EDGAR-compatible HTML. If your source is a Word or PDF file, ACI offers separate Word-to-EDGAR HTML and PDF-to-EDGAR HTML services.

Does the service submit the completed filing to the SEC?

No. Download the tagged files, review and validate them, and submit them using your authorized SEC EDGAR filing workflow.

How long does tagging take?

Typical jobs complete in less than one hour, but actual processing time can vary with file complexity, load, and other conditions. Check the filing status using your Access Code.

Can I verify the completed Inline XBRL?

Yes. Review the filing before submission. You may use independent tools such as Arelle to inspect and validate Inline XBRL output.
